NATIONAL AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 3 RESULTS

AMATEUR:

The country’s top amateur golfer Ghazanfar Mehmood held on to his top place on the leaderboard with a high quality second round golf that fetched him a score of four under 68.

Following his score of par in the first round, he was seen at his best on Saturday as he notched up the best score of the tournament so far. His aggregate score of 140 gave him a clear five strokes edge over his nearest rival Taimoor Khan, who carded a score of par 72. Tariq Mehmood (147) is a further two strokes behind. Tariq carded two over in the second round.

Ghazanfar carded three birdies on the trot from the fourth to the sixth holes and then again on the ninth. He also had a bogey on the 8th hole. Besides playing pars on the back nine, Ghazanfar chipped in with a birdie on hole No 13.

In the third round of National Amateur championship, Ghazanfar Mehmood is leading the scoreboard with 72 Gross whereas ASHIQ HUSSAIN is in second position having 72 Gross and SALMAN JEHANGIR is on third having 72 Gross.

LADIES:

In the third round of championship, HAMNA AMJAD is leading with 76 Gross whereas AANIA FAROOQ SYED is having 77 and SUNEYAH OSAMA 81 is on third position.

PGA Tour: Memorial Tournament 2020

The Memorial Tournament is considered one of the most professional golf tournaments on the PGA tour, founded in 1976 by jack-Nicklaus. It is played on a Nicklaus-designed course at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb north of Columbus. The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide, with the 45th edition of the Tournament being organized July 16-19. The purse for the 2020 Memorial Tournament is about $9.3 million.

Thomas initially needed to run off a string of birdies to remain within the range of Collin Morikawa. Furthermore, when Morikawa started to fade with three bogeys during a four-hole stretch around the turn, Thomas converted on the par 5s and played carefully on the short par-4 14th for an additional birdie to hold off Viktor Hovland.

Viktor Hovland

Viktor Hovland hit 13 of 18 greens in regulation during his third round at the Workday Charity Open, completing at 14 under for the tournament. Hovland finished his day in second at 14 under.

Collin Morikawa

Young Collin Morikawa hit 11 of 14 fairways and 10 of 18 greens in regulation, completing at 13 under for the tournament. Morikawa completed his day in third at 13 under during his third round at the Workday Charity Open.

Final round

Morikawa, after rallying back late within the round, fought off Justin Thomas in a fantastic playoff at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. The win marked Morikawa’s second in his PGA Tour career, and therefore the first of the season for the 23-year-old. Kevin Kisner hit 13 of 14 fairways and 15 of 18 greens in regulation and completed the day without a bogey. He, who hasn’t won a stroke-play tournament since 2017, missed his last two cuts but was nearly flawless round 1 to earn a share of the lead.

Round 2

Chris Kirk’s newfound confidence doesn’t appear to be letting up, although he’s missing a couple of greens here and there. Chris Kirk, who fired his best PGA Tour round in eight months during round 1 of the Rocket Mortgage Classic with a 67, went two shots better on round 2. At the end of the day, Chris Kirk hit 12 of 18 greens in regulation during his second round at the Rocket Mortgage Classic tie-up with Webb Simpson, who made a late charge to tug even heading into the weekend.

Webb Simpson is considered one of the best American players in the world. He’s the guy to beat after two rounds. He’s been lights out together with his irons and is close to jumping to the highest of the 2020 PGA Tour Player of the Year race. In the second round of the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic, Webb Simpson carded an 8-under 64 to urge to 12-under for the tournament, putting him in a tie the leaderboard with Chris Kirk heading at round 2.

Round 3

The Rocket Mortgage Classic – Professional Golf Tournament on the PGA Tour

The Rocket Mortgage Classic is a professional golf competition on the PGA tour. It had been first staged in 2019 at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan. The tournament replaced the Quicken Loans National on the PGA Tour schedule.
